Yes! The tour is family-friendly and suitable for children. Children should be at least 6 years old, and they must be accompanied by an adult.
No, you don’t need any prior kayaking experience! Our tour is suitable for beginners, families, and anyone who enjoys being outdoors. Our professional guides will teach you the basics of kayaking before we begin, ensuring that everyone is comfortable on the water.
The tour lasts approximately 3-4 hours, with around 2 hours spent kayaking on the river. The remaining time is allocated for preparation, including getting dressed, receiving paddling instructions, and a short transfer to the starting point of the tour.
You can come with your transport to our base at village Zecev Varos (7min from Slunj, 30min from Plitvice Lakes). Here is the exact location There is also a bus from Zagreb or Plitvice Lakes to Slunj. We can pick you up there. Please inform us about your arrival in advance. If you wish to take a bus from Zagreb, you can buy ticket here. Contact us for help and assistance. We can also arrange a pick up for you for an extra fee.
Travelers arrive from all over the world to begin our tours and it is not possible to include international airfare in our prices. We would be happy to help you arrange flights. Just ask for recommendations when making your booking.
We recommend bringing a backpack or duffel bag, as suitcases can be cumbersome and difficult to store in vehicles, under seats, etc.. Keep in mind that you will normally have to carry your own luggage up and down hotel staircases.
We always recommend packing as light as possible however the specific requirements for your tour will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling. Our ‘Final Bulletin’ document that will be sent to you by e-mail after booking includes a suggested packing list. The list is tour specific and based upon the experience of our ground staff.
Requirements for travel visas vary widely depending on your nationality and your destination. We are unable to arrange visas on your behalf. If you do require a visa you can arrange them yourself or use the services of a travel agent or visa processing company.
We keep our group sizes low so you have the freedom to move around and get involved with your surroundings, as well as more personal attention from our local guides. This intimate size ensures that your group will not crowd your experience. You can expect from 4-16 travelers on a trip. Check individual trip pages for maximum group sizes.
To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The minimum age for all our tours is 8 (although smaller children might be able to participate under special conditions, please contact us for details). There are no upper age limits for our tours but we ask travellers with pre-existing medical conditions to carefully read the tour description before booking.
All our multi-day tours have a single room supplement. The cost varies by trip, so please refer to each trip page for details. If you are travelling alone and wish to share a room with another fellow traveler, that might be possible; please contact us for details.
Our 1-day trips usually have a minimum of 2 or 4 persons. If you are a single traveller you can join a group if the minimum number of persons has been reached. If not or if you prefer a private trip just for you, some of our programs have a single traveller supplement, please refer to each trip page for details.
Hotel/accommodation names and contact are listed in the Final Bulletin document that will be sent to you by e-mail after booking.
It might be possible to join a tour after it has begun or leave a tour early. However you will be responsible for your own arrangements and all costs associated. If you feel this may be necessary please consult a Go Explore Croatia Specialist before you book your adventue to get more details about the prices and conditions.
Most of our multi-day adventures include transfers from/to nearby airports. Please refer to each trip page for details (Prices & Dates section). If you require a transfer from/to an airport or location that is not listed in the price inclusions, feel free to contact us to ask for a quote.
In most cases we use private transportation, usually passenger vans for up to 8 people (although for smaller groups we tend to use smaller vehicles).
For privacy reasons we cannot provide you with advance details on your traveling companions. However, our tours appeal to a wide range of travellers, most of whom share an adventurous spirit and a desire to experience nature and local culture from an active perspective. Our tours are conducted in English and so they attract many travellers from North America, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
Yes, in most cases we can arrange additional accommodation at our starting or ending hotels. Please contact us for price information. If we are unable to provide you with the extra nights we will give you the name of a hotel you can contact directly. Please also note that it’s best to book extra accommodations as soon as possible to assure that they are available.
Tips are not included in the tour price and tipping is entirely at your discretion. Our Final Bulletin documentation that you will receive after booking includes suggested tipping amounts.
